What is ODCE?
Outreach, Distance and Continuing Education, or ODCE (pronounced “odyssey”) for short, is a University of Arizona division designed to serve students both across the state and around the world throughout the Lifelong Learning Loop — from pre-college to degree or certificate and beyond. It’s made up of three departments:
- Outreach Education collaborates with our university campus to identify and develop exciting academic programs to deliver to students of all ages. The department provides a variety of programs to pre-collegiate students (dual enrollment and summer programs), learning workshops to our communities and more, as part of our efforts to enhance community engagement.
- Distance Education provides learners throughout Arizona and beyond with the opportunity to earn a degree without leaving their hometown through the Near You Network’s leading-edge hybrid education approach.
- Continuing and Professional Education provides innovative and engaging non-credit learning experiences that transform the lives of individuals, organizations and communities in Arizona and around the world.
Collectively, ODCE’s three departments deliver on our mission to transcend the traditional barriers of access, geography and cost to provide ambitious learners with a quality education from Arizona’s flagship university.
